I do see the URL listed as http://0.0.0.0.

OK, that indicates that the printer is not connected to your wireless network.

On the front of the printer: Setup > Network or Wireless > Restore Network or Wireless Defaults.

Push and hold the WPS button located on the back of your router for three seconds. Then initiate the WPS procedure on the printer within two minutes.  In that same menu on your printer, start the WPS Pushbutton process.

Now, the printer should connect to your router.  Print the Wireless Network Test again to be sure.

Good afternoon PrintDoc (Dean).

I followed your insturctions but was not successful reconnecting printer to network.

There must be some simple process that I am overlooking to reestablish the link.

The wireless light is lit on the HP printer but the WPS connection is not linking with the router after I hold the Push button on the router.

Any other thoughts are welcome.

Than you,

Stew

OK, let's look at the router settings:

1. Make sure that 802.11g mode is enabled in some way.

2. Change the channel to 11

3. Make sure you are not using WEP encryption.

4. Make sure the router firmware is updated.

Good afternoon PrintDoc (Dean)

I went into Belikin router page on Internet Explorer.using my IP address.

Went into Wireless Channel & SSID and noticed that the QoS Configuration was in the OFF position.

The Encription Technique is listed as TKIP

The Security mode is listed as WPA/WPA2 - Personal PSK.

I am on Channel 11.

I will now try to reconned printer and router as perviously recommended.

Let's see if this works since I turned on the Qos Configuration.

Thanks

Stew

No success.  Still no connection found after going through the steps again after changi9ng the Qos Config 802.11e to ON.

At a loss why units won't communicate.

Thanks

OK, is the 802.11g mode enabled?  Go to the Wireless setttings tab to see what mode it is in (it is likely in th mode of  802.11n / g / b compatible).

In the Wireless - Channel & SSID page I did change the setting from OFF to ON.

Also the Wireless Mode states 11b+g+n.

Other thoughts are welcome.

Well, it appears the router is configured correctly and you have restarted it, right?

Let's turn off the printer with its power button, then turn it back on.  Then do another Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer.  What does it say about the state of the wireless radio?  How about the URL?

Good morning PrintDoc(Dean).

I never turned off the router as your questions suggests that perhaps I should have and restarted it?????

The Wireless Radio is in the ON position.

I printed out a new HP network config page and it states that:

The URL is http://0.0.0.0.

Network status is Offline

Active connection type  NONE.

We had my daughters MAC connected wireless before but that function has since failed and we now use a USB cable connection so she could print her school work.  Don't know how Status is now disconnected.

It shows the number of 802.11 networks discovered is 8.  It shows the channel of my router is #11,

Privacy is RSN

Auth is WPA-PSK

Signal -29

WPS shows NO.

Hope this helps put some pieces of puzzle together.

Thank you again,

Stew
