I am trying to set a wireless connection on my C7250 all-in-one printer.  When I put in the WPA passphrase and say OK, it fails,  My diagnostics summary says no filtering         failed, recommendations says to check if MAC adress filtering is being used by my router.  I am using a netgear 150 router issued by comcast. what is it asking me, I don't kow what to look for.  On my HP network configuration page it says under the wireless heading;  Hardware address (MAC) and then gives an address, then under that it has status     disconnected... is this affecting the no filtering issue above?

Cycle power on the router then try again.

OK, remove the coax cable from the wall, remove the power plug momentarly, replace it and let it restart (without the cable).

Now, try to connect it.

The cable from the wall goes to a modem and my router is connected to the modem by eathernet cable.  which should I remove?

Oh, I thought it was one of those modem/router combos that Comcast issues.

Can you get into the router settings?  Try this:

Type 192.168.0.1 into a web browser address bar.

The login is 'admin' and the password is 'password' if it is standard.

If Comcast has messed with it the login is 'Comcast' (maybe without the capital C) and the password is '1234'

Once in there check the following:

MAC filtering - make sure it is off (I'd be surprised if it was on).

It is using WPA encryption and not WPA2.

Change to channel 11 on the wireless radio.

I tried changing the radio to chl 11, I don't see where it says the MAC filter is on or off.  I am sending you the router status page.  I still get the same error.  I really appreciate your effot on this, but I am getting frusrated with it.  M error report also say very low signal strength, could this have anything.  It is only about 20 ft from router to printer, I have excellent strength on my laptop.  The router is on the foor for lack of furniture and nothing is around it.  Do I need to find something to sit it up on?

I am not sure I am reading the report formatting correctly, but here are a couple of suspicious items:

1. Wireless Port Wireless Settings a/n - the wirelesss needs to include "g" (802.11g mode).  If it is just a/n mode, the printer will not connect.

2. g/n only Wireless AP OFF - this tells me that the g mode is off

So, let's try to make sure that 802.11g is enabled (along with 802.11n or a is OK, too, but "g" has to be active).

My 7500A printer works erratically. It appears to have lost its network connection the troubleshooting report says 'No filtering FAIL' I have restarted to modem and the printer but with no joy.

On the front of the printer:

1. Touch the right arrow, and then select Network.

2. Touch Restore Network Defaults.

3. Touch Wireless, select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.

4. Follow the display instructions to complete the setup.
