Hi @Nana3337,

 

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

 

I'd be happy to help you! 

 

Let's try this. 

 

Put the upper scanner lid back down completely and then open BOTH lids at once. The upper lid activated some switch that allowed the cartridge cover to open with it. 

 

If that does not help, this could be a hardware issue and needs service.
