My oldie goldie printer has suddenly decided not to print colour since I connected my new MacBook Pro.  When I used my former Apple laptop, there was no issues.  I have downloaded the driver (hopefully the right one), and replaced the colour cartridge.  What am I doing wrong?  Any ideas?

Hi,

If it worked fine before, it doesn't seem like the problem would be with the printer (although it could be, you never know!).

I'd suspect it is the settings. Although it is for the opposite problem, this document has some suggestions about checking the settings:

Mary...

Thanks for the reply.  I'm thinking it's the settings too because the cartridge is brand new.  When I click on PRINT and choose to print from say, Microsoft Word, the options it gives are "Copies and Pages", then I click on "Colour Matching" and it shows that Color Sync is checked.  Under Profiles it says "Automatic" but gives other profiles and there are reeeeems of choices.  Perhaps this is where my problem lies, but I don't know which on to choose?

The choices are endless....if you have any more direction, would greatly be appreciated!

Thanks for taking the time to send me a reply.  I appreciate it!

Not sure on that. Sounds like there are too many choices.

You loaded the printer driver (Step 5 on the instructions linked) onto your new Mac? Usually the default setting in the driver are correct. Then, when you go to print, you just be sure the printer chosen is the 960C and you're usually OK.

Some Mac owners have problems if they use the generic drivers that come with the Mac software because they don't always allow good communication with your particular printer.

Best of luck,
Mary

You ROCK!  I went through the steps yet again and it appears that the first 3 times the driver did not install properly so I'm not sure exactly what I did (or didn't do).  Appreciate the fact that you stuck with me and helped me solve the problem!  YEAH!!!

Thanks so much...now I can print the thank you notes to my students and mail them out!

My HP 960 printer won't print in color with a new cartridge. It is not reading the new cart
