Recently successfully installed HP photosmart 7510-e all in one printer on wireless in home secure and working fine. today went to print & won't print. Printer will print from other laptop but not mine. ran tests & says wireless on; my Macbook pro says device unknown. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall or other fix? thanks.

Thanks for the quick response PrintDoc.
I tried what you suggested to no avail. However, I noticed when scrolling down to the Reset Network Defaults that there was a way to manually assign an IP address.
It took a lot of playing around, but what finally worked was.
- Reset Network Defaults
- Manually Set IP Address and DHCP Server Address (The DHCP Address was wrong)
- Reserve the IP Address on the router (so it doesn't assign that address to another device)
- Run Wireless Setup Wizard
I'm up and running now.
Thanks!

What version of OS X?
If 10.5 thru 10.7, reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

This did not work for me and I've tried it twice. It normally works with no problems. I ran a wireless network test report and everything was pass/ excellent. Just keeps saying unable to connect to printer and in my printer preferences it shows that it is "in use" when I have something in the queue and "idle" after I delete it.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Running 10.6.8
Thanks!

BT Homehubs do not like HP printers and this is a very typical symptom (search these forums for BT Homehub to see that you are not alone).
I have a couple of ideas for you, but honestly, the only way to really fix this is to get a second, stanard router and connect all devices to that and then connect that router to your BT Homehub.
Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
- Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
