Thanks but no.

 

The driver for the printer mentioned in the link is significantly different. They talk about problems with drivers from version 23.x up until 46.x

But the latetest 6500a Plus driver is 22.x

 

Besides, the 'solution' mentioned there: 'just disable scan to computer, and your scan to computer poblems are gone'  can not be taken seriously of course.

Last night the printer was frozen. First time I've ever seen a printer's software crash.. 

I couldn't even turn the **bleep** thing off anymore!  <SIGH>

 

Gotta tell you, it is my first HP and most definately my last one; 

Drivers are very buggy and havent been updated in almost 18 months despite all the bug reports. I am quite disappointed.

While there may be issues with individual printer/computer combinations and programming, I now can say that my previous instructions allow me to simply lay down the document on the printer tray, without any printer manipulation, and simply click on HP SCAN, which I have in my startup menu.  Done!  Try it and you will like it!

I went thru the printer control panel product update. It says there are no product updates available. But my scan to still has to activated everytime.
