Hi,

Do you have a Distinctive Ring service from your phone service provider for the Fax phone number?

Please try changing the Distinctive Ring setting to All Rings and check for any difference.

That seem to do it! I switched the Distinctive Ring setting from "Double Rings" to "All Standard Rings".

I have to say, it's very unfortunate that we are not able to use the customization offered by HP to distinguish a phone ring from a fax ring.

You may use a Distinctive Ring if your phone service provider supports a such, and capable of assigning a different ring pattern for a dedicated fax number, only than the setting will take a place, you may read more about Distinctive Ring below:
