We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

I have tried turning off the firewall, reinstalling the HP Easy Scan, HP printer update, printers and scanners on the system preferences  etc. I still get the error message that the printer is being used by a remote user user. Please help!

I understand that you are getting a "Scanner is being used by a remote user" error while scanning.

I would like to help you.

 

Meanwhile:
 

Perform a power reset

  1. Turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
  3. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds.
  5. Plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector and printer.
  6. Turn on the printer.

Update the printer firmware

Remove and add the printer with AirPrint

Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.

If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer, click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.

If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.

        3. Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

              Select AirPrint from the Use menu

      4. Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print and use HP Easy Scan and try to scan a document.
