We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP ENVY 5530 won't scan. HP Smart troubleshooter says it's offline, but window on printer and network configuration page verifies it is.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.

 

Offline is a state of the printer not being able to access what it needs to perform tasks that require specific connection types.

 

For example, the printer might appear to be on your network (solid blue light on printer and printer can be "pinged" from the computer).  The type of connection necessary for the current task might have failed.  What?  Task might require Web Services and that service is not running.  Connection might be failing due to the connection type -- try changing the connection type to TCP/IP.  Singular to HP Smart, the sign-to your HP Account might fail to connect.

 

Easy Fix - might actually work:

Restart Everything, including the router that controls your network.

HP Smart might benefit from having the application "Reset" - this is less than an uninstall of the app but does remove the application data.

Reset the HP Smart Application

 

Reset the HP Smart application - This action removes the app data.

 

Open Settings > Apps > Apps and Features

Search and Find HP Smart in the apps list

Open Advanced options > Reset the app

 

Restart the computer and log in

Open HP Smart > Sign in > Add Printer(s)

If the Reset does not help,

If you have not already done so (and maybe if you have)...

Uninstall the HP Smart app from your Windows 

Restart the computer 

Next,

"Get" a new copy of the app from the Microsoft Store
