As you mentioned you found a new laptop after six months and now you would like to know if you can register and use the laptop.

 

Yes, you can contact HP support and get the product registered. However, the warranty start date would be from the date of purchase of your laptop. 

 

Once after you register your product the laptop warranty gets activated.

 

You contact HP phone support and ask for warranty registration team to register your product.
