Hi everyone, hopefully this is the best place to answer this question.
We've just upgraded our old Cisco Call Manager system, using Cisco handsets and Cisco Jabber, over to Microsoft Teams and CCX500 handsets.
With the old Cisco system, we could look for a contact in Cisco Jabber and ring from Jabber on the computer and it'll then ring from the physical handset and then you'd pick the handset up when the other person answers. This means that directory and contact management is much easier as it's done on Windows rather than the handset.
Now, we're trying to do the same thing with Microsoft Teams client on Windows and the CCX500 handsets. We log into the handsets with our teams account, we logged into the Windows Teams client with the same account and we can then connect the handset via bluetooth to the computer. Teams on the computer will then state that the audio device that is in use is the CCX500 phone. This will work fine for about 10 minutes but then the Windows Teams client will disconnect from the handset without warning and go back to the PC Mic and Speakers. Obviously this isn't ideally as we'd need to constantly check the audio device settings and reconnect and then call.
Is there a better way to do this?
Software and firmware are below
Windows Teams version 1.6.00.4472 x64 – Latest version as of today
Handset – Poly CX500 Firmware 8.1.2.1122 and Teams App version 1449/1.0.94.2023050205 - both of these are the latest
