So far, this issue has occured on HP Prodesk G400, HP Z240 and HP ProBook 640 and 650 G2, on many devices, every time BIOS related.

When I try to disable IPv6, since our organisation uses IPv4 to boot on Network and IPv6 may take quite a long time before timing out, I sometimes get a bug where after saving and quitting, IPv6 will not only reappear in the boot order, but also make another option disappear, such as IPv4 or SATA. I can then return back in the BIOS, disable the (now 2?) IPv6 settings, enable back IPv4 or SATA, save and quit, and find the same issue after.

Also, I could sometimes get IPv6 disabled with SATA and IPv4 but then after failing to boot on IPv4, the boot order would bug and replace SATA with IPv6.

To fix it, I have to either hope it works or reset BIOS to factory settings and reapply the desired settings.

 

BIOS version is up to date, using UEFI, Legacy disabled, secure boot disabled.

 

I couldn't find anything related to this issue, and wanted to know if there was a fix other than keeping IPv6 enabled, if HP was aware of this and working on it.
