HP Elite USB-C Docking Station
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I wish I had research the actual docking station type (little did I know there was a USB type), before I chose the Elite laptop.  My Envy for work foolishly led me to believe all docking stations were alike.  I assumed that I would plug everything into the docking station and snap my laptop into place and I'd be good to go, but no.....

There is this USB docking station which I do NOT like.  I have an external monitor, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, speakers and a printer connected to my HP Elite USB-C Docking Station.  I have used it for the last two weeks and several times the connectivity between the docking station and the peripheral devices has been lost.  I am just clicking or typing away and everything is frozen on the monitor.  No keyboard or mouse response.  I have to unplug the docking station from the laptop and reconnect it.

This is not how a docking station should function.  Is this a known issue with the HP Elite USB-C Docking Station?  Is there a formware update that I am possibly missing?  What can be done to correct this issue?

And next time I purchase a laptop I will defintely research further the type of docking station that the laptop uses.

Thanks,

Junebuggnc
