Does HP Z820 Support SLI with dual Quadro K4000 Cards.

Hi Guys,

Have any one of you tried putting dual Quadro K4000 graphic card in to HP Z820 Workstation. I mean 2 Nos of Nvidia Quadro K4000 Graphic card in to HP Z820 Workstation. 

Please also suggest me to use SLI support HP Z series Workstation with dual graphic cards which tested.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. HP z820 is a series of MANY configurations. There is an option with 2 NVIDIA Quadro K4000 3GB Graphics as shown on the following specs

A pair of Quadro K4000 GPU's may be used in a z820,  but they will not run as SLI:

Quadro SLI with 2 GPUs provides four features on all enabled motherboards:

System HP Z820 More Info K5000, K6000

The z820 is SLI-capable,  but in those days, only the top two Quadro GPU's were SLI-certified.

Before running SLI, consult the makers of the software you're using.  Adobe CS /CC for years has not been able to address multiple GPU's, even when they are on a single card such as GTX 680.

If the goal is to increase compute power and you already have a K4000, consider adding a Tesla C2075 GPU coprocessor. The C2075 adds 6GB and 448 CUDA cores.  

However,  if you'd like to significantly improve the GPU performance, have a look at Quadro P1000 4GB ($330) and P2000 5GB ($450).  Last Friday, I tried a Quadro P2000  in a z420 (E5-1660 v2) and the Passmark  3D score- which had been 5022 using a Quadro K4200, changed to 8950- faster than a GTX 1060- and faster than the average Quadro K6000, Titan Black , and Quadro M5000.  The P1000 is a very good value also, having a Passmark 3D average of 4594.  Compare the P1000 figure to the Quadro K4200 at 4456 and K4000 at 2845. But, in my view, the P2000 is well worth stretching the budget a bit.  The really astounding one is the $850, Quadro P4000 8GB  = 10903 where P5000 = 10821, and the M6000 24GB- $5,000 = 10301.  The p4000 I believe could be a good investment, it's considered VR-and 5K capable and so should be useful in the z820 and the system that follows - 4 or 5 years.
