Hi,

From its specs:

   http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04400040.pdf

It has  1 PCIe x8 Gen 3, 1 PCIe x1 Gen 2, 1 PCIe x4 Gen 2, 1 PCI Slot

The following card is suitable. You need to connect to PCIe x8 Gen 3 slot

This card WILL NOT work in any HP Workstation.  I purchased a card based on the HP Expert and discovered his advice to be wrong.

This is correct - the motherboard is required to have a special TB3 header and associated bios options for enabling TB3. It works on a select number of Asus motherboards and perhaps also on some other boards which fulfill these requirements.
