HP w1907v

Yeah Hi,

I have an HP w1907v computer, and I used to use this computer a lot when I was younger where I would download loads of games and just go on the weirdest sites which resulted in me giving the computer thousands of viruses and threats. I remember a member who used to work with Kaspersky had downloaded it onto my computer twice and it had worked, however, after the licence ran out, I didn’t renew and it made my computer get more viruses, so now the computer is overall very very slow. I would like to reset the whole computer, so I tried using the menu button on the screen and clicked reset factory settings but that didn’t allow it to reset either. How can I reset this computer and get it to work faster again as well as protecting it from any viruses or threats?

@Berfs
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • What is the operating system?
  • Have you created a system factory restore disc/media?
  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).

Note: You can perform a Windows system factory reset using system recovery Midea. If you do not have one you can get one from HP support.
Keep me posted for further assistance.

Have you tried booting up pressing repeatedly F11? Usually this brings up the Windows Recovery in which you can select "Advanced Troubleshooting Options", and do a fresh install. This will erase any installed program. If F11 does not work try using other F keys as well. Once you reset it you can choose a free antivirus or pay for better protection any antivirus meeting your needs.
