hp webcam ew192aa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have had this webcam for a long time and when I got rid of my old laptop (webcam worked on my old laptop) i lost the disk and now, a few months later, I am trying to find the downloadable software. But I can't seem to find anything that is compatible with windows 10.

Is there software for hp webcam ew192aa that i can download onto my dell that will work for windows 10. Is it too outdated or will it not work on a dell?

Any help would be appreciated! 🙂

Hi @Tangerine9,

Thanks for stopping by the HP community. A very good day to you. 🙂 I reviewed the post regarding Webcam issues on that is not supported by your new computer. I will be delighted to assist you here. 🙂

Superb description of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you with it. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

It looks like the webcam was designed long before windows 10 was designed. As a result drivers for this webcam may not be available for windows 10 and hence it is not working.

  • Is the webcam not detected in device manager?
  • Is there a listing for unknown device in device manager?
  • Did you check if the webcam works in different apps like skype or the original webcam app?

Please try these steps:

  • Please check in device manager if there is a listing for the webcam under Imaging devices.
  • Right click on start button>left click on device manager in the list>expand Imaging devices and check if there is a webcam listing.
  • If there is uninstall it and restart the computer and check if the driver gets installed correctly. Then try to use the Webcam.
  • If the issue persists, please check this link: http://hp.com/drivers to see if there is an updated webcam driver for windows 10.
  • If there is none, then please try to install the webcam drivers and software from the original CD that came with it and check if that works.
  • If nothing works, then you will need to buy a new webcam that is compatible with Windows 10 by getting in touch with a local Best Buy or Staples store order one from Amazon or eBay. You could check Hp shopping also at http://store.hp.com  Please follow the on-screen instructions after selecting the country.

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
