Hi
I do support on many designjets and am getting calls about windows 10
I looked at this document and was a little shocked and concerned about the number of legacy printers which are no longer officially supported with drivers for Wondows 10
http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04658195
HP 5500PS HP 1050, HP 500 HP 800 HP 110....
I understand that HP need to make money and so may have lost interest in these older models
But a lot of my work is to keep older printers working well and out of landfill. So the prospect of literally thousands and thousands of printers being scapped is a eco tragedy.
I suspect work arounds will start to appear. For example ebay lists many peop;e selling drivers for the machines as ald as theDesinjet 600 ( 22 years old) to be used on up ro window 8.1
If you need a solution or find a solution I would love to hear about it.
KInd regards
Pete

Hi, Pete. A lot of people use the old Win XP x64 driver and then if necessary "override" the Win 7, 8.1, or 10??? (not sure about 10 really) x64 "signed driver requirement". I think you can F8 upon computer start up and make the proper selection to override it; I forget what is stated exactly for which you select Y or N (I think). There is another more formal way to do it within windows but I'm not sure of the formal steps.
Again, I'm not positive about win 10 x64, but I've heard this works with win 7 & 8.1 x64.

Got my HP Designjet 600 working on windows 10!!
It's a process but here goes.....
You do not need to connect the printer to the win 7 system.
1) Connect a 64bit (for me) windows 7 PC to your network
2) Install the printer using the HP 64 Bit Driver on a local LPT Printer port
3) Share the Printer
4) On your Windows 10 PC install the shared printer on the windows 7 system.
5) Now on your windows 10 system install it as a local printer and when prompted for driver
browse to the driver folder you used for win 7, choose the printer, when prompted choose Keep Existing Driver.
If you need the driver I put it in my dropbox....

Hi
I used the instructions suggested by bomartin but that didn't work for me in Windows 10. However I found that by not spooling the print documents and printing directly to the printer it did work. It is slower but for a 22 year old machine it is to be expected.
To do this right click the plotter icon > printer properties > advanced tab > click the 'print directly to the printer' radio button.
Hope this helps someone..

After many atttemps to get my DesignJet 600 to work with Windows 10 I finally got it done. Used a USB to 36 pin printer cable made by Star Tech. Plugger the cable on the computer first and let it be recognized and installed. Then plugged it into the plotter. Had to install the plotter through AUTOCAD. Then had to set it on USB001 port. Drivers are in AUTOCAD. Hope this helps

Amazing thank you for posting
25 year old designjet still working with Autocad on Windows 10.
I cant think the of any technology that old which can still work productivly.
The machine was designed at a time of windows 3.11 was in use, and is 25% on the way to being an antiuqe.

AutoCAD is a software from AutoDesk used to generate line drawings and 3D models.
Is not a software that you will use to install the printer on your computer.
