I was hoping to use older 5.1 speakers with my new Omen PC, but the audio output is a single jack, and the speakers are designed to connect to computers using three plugs. My review of the documentation doesn't clearly state how to do this, or if it is even possible. Has anyone had success doing this? Is there an adapter available to connect the three plugs from the older speakers into the one jack on the PC?

Hey there! @Tele-Addict, Thanks for the response.
I understand that you need help in connecting 5.1 surround system to your PC.
Please try the steps recommended below to setup the surround system.
If your computer sound card does not support either a digital connection or 6-channel analog, you can still simulate surround sound by using the effects settings on the Z-5500 control pod. For both 4-channel analog and 2-channel analog, do the following:
Connect your Z-5500 to the sound card using the color-coded 3.5mm inputs on the back of your control pod.
Set the switch on the back of your control pod to the Stereo 1-3 setting. Press the Input button on the front of your control pod.
Cycle through the selections and choose the Direct input.
Press the Effect button on the front of your control pod.
Cycle through the selections and choose one of the following:
Stereo: This effect plays your music in stereo- left and right only.
Stereo X2: This setting splits the audio signal to the rear speakers giving you 4.1 channel sound.
Dolby Digital PL2 Music/Movies: This setting creates a simulated surround sound effect by up-mixing to all your speakers.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

Hey there! @jwcaruso, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand that you need help in connecting 5.1 speakers to your laptop.
I have checked the specifications of your PC and you cannot connect 5.spekers using three input plugs.
You have to use USB External 5.1 Channel Audio Adapter to use it as a single input to your laptop.
Or you have to buy 5.1 HDMI audio speakers to connect your laptop.

Have a wonderful day ahead! 🙂

I have a Omen 870-175na with a similar issue. I want to connect my Logitech z5500 5.1 surround system to the soundcard but there isnt an optical input on the pc as the original op states just one jack socket. So far I have been partially sucessful by purchasing a HDMI pass through with optical output.

the back panel jacks (headphone and two lines) serve as the three outputs when you connect your three 5.1 speaker inputs. the Realtek software detects the 5.1 speakers and converts the ports.
