Pavillion r-110 all in one
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I know where the internal mic is located but how do I use it? I have always had an external mic in the past. My HP r-110 all in one is brand new so still getting to know it . Do I have to set up the mic and if so how and where. Win 10 has a mic setup with voice training/ recgonition but it does not show internal mic as a choice so I am stuck! I would like to experiment making a voice recording but have no clue how to activate the mic. HELP and THANKS

Dragon fur...thanks so much. I knew where the mic was but didn't know how to use it. Do I have to have the 'sound' turned on to use the mic? I don't leave the speakers on unless I need to listen to something.

Checked the settings as you instructed and mic is 'on' .

I don't have the touchscreen 110 but love this new all in one.

thanks again

You are welcome!

Test your microphone -- at least to the extent that it is set up and working:

If your Taskbar contains the little speaker icon,

Right-Click on speaker icon >

Playback Devices > Recording >

  • While the Sound > Playback Devices > Recording menu is open,
  • Place the little menu / window somehwere on your Desktop where you can see it >
  • Clap your hands!

Watch for a response in the little "sound bar" located to the right of the selected device (Your "Internal Microphone")
