Envy 850-150qe wont boot headless

I've tried many different strategies to get this computer to boot headless, but thus far if the monitor isn't on, it fails to boot. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi,

There should be an option in BIOS called "halt on errors" or something similar. Try disabling this option and the computer should boot without monitor.

1) Correct, the computer will not boot without a monitor attached and on. (Headless)

2) The bios options are configured as you are saying where halt on post errors is set to false. 

Additionally, turning on the display when it is in this non-booting state results in no information on the sceeen, and post does not continue. It stays stuck.

Look into any "server" room.  You'll find many servers, but very few monitors, because most of the computers are "headless".  After the server boots, you can PING it, or use Remote Desktop to connect to it from any "client".

If the server does not boot, attach a monitor, and trouble-shoot it.
