Pavilion p7-1170t
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP pavilion will not start.  When I turn the power on, I get flashing yellow lights and beeping sounds 5 times each.  What do I do?

Hello there,

If it is 5 short beeps then the problem is most likely either with your motherboard or with your power. I would suggest removing RAMs from laptop, see if sound changes to another beep, tif so then plug rams again. You can also try removing battery from your laptop as well. I would say there is a possibility that Battery might be dead

Give it a try , hopefull one of them will help.

This computer is a desktop so the problem cannot be the battery.  If it is the motherboard, how can I replace it?

Hello,

Apologise, I thought this was a laptop. Can you please check whether 12V is plugged in properly then? or actually remove power cable and 12V power cable, remove also rams and plug them back in again.

5 short beep means issue with power supply / motherboard.

Let me know if this sort out your issue,
