Hi, i've been having this problem lately with my pc, almost every time i turn it on, it appears a Disk error, but sometimes it starts normally and i have no problems later.

I tried the hard drive diagnostic test but it doesn't recognize the hdd.

It is my hardrive dead? And why sometimes the computer runs with no problem and other times not?
Thanks for help, and sorry if bad english.

I suggest using the HP Hardware Diagnostics to test the hard disk.

Press the power button and immediately tap the Esc key.

That should invoke the startup menu.

Press F2 to nvoke the Diagnostics and choose component and then the long Hard disk test.

I do suggest that you backup important data, such as photos and documents to either external USB  media or to Cloud storage online.
