Is the HP ENVY 700-406 able to be upgraded?

I tried to upgrade my HP ENVY 700-406 with an EVGA GTX 1050Ti, and the monitor wouldn't start. So it's one of two things. One, HP blocked something in the BIOS so that you're not able to upgrade. Two, I need to get a better PSU. So I came here to confirm that the HP ENVY 700-406 is able to be upgraded. Thank you for your time. >:D

Your power supply meets the minimum requirements for the 1050.

You will have to go back to the factory graphics.

You need to enter Setup (BIOS), then go to Security.

Disable Secure boot and enable Legacy boot.

Save and exit BIOS. Then enter confirmation code to confirm changes.

Now install the new graphics card after removing the factory graphics drivers and any updates to the factory graphics drivers and it should work.

Well, I returned the card because I am saving the money for now, until I have a better PSU. Thank you for telling me this, at least I know now that I can upgrade and will be fine. I will look back at this once I get everything, thank you. I should've researched more, and came here before returning it. But, I did not. No worries, in a month or two I will be set. Now I know as well how to set up the GPU. Thank you. 🙂

Also, the reason I thought I didn't have enough Watts is because in the Power Supply, at least the one I got. It says Power Wattage 102 W, also in the bottom left it says MAX POWER: 300 Watts. So I was confused, but I trust you. So it was probably the BIOS, I couldn't figure out what exactly to do in the BIOS. Now I know.
