Slimline turns on for split second, replaced Mobo and PSU

PSU went bad so I replaced it.  Power led and fan will come on for a split second and turn off.

*The following steps are what I have done and have ended up with the same issue after each step.

- I removed the RAM and tested 1 slot at a time.

- I tested the new PSU on another PC and it booted up.

- I ordered an exact same motherboard which came with a CPU and 1gb RAM.

- I swapped RAM 1 slot at a time from old Mobo to new Mobo and vice vera.

- Swapped CPU's from both Mobo. tried both Mobos

- Tried a used working CPU fan

- No bulging Caps on either Mobo.

- All wires and cables disconnected except switch

- Isolated Mobo from case

- Plugged in power switch from another desktop

I have basically tried every componet to use with each mobo 1 at a time. I am at a complete loss as to what the issue might be.

@jim20j, welcome to the forum.

The only component that you didn't mention as being tested is the power cord.  I presume that you used the power cord that came with the new PSU to see if it made a difference.

The psu did not come with a cord, but I did just use several other cords and a different outlet.

Wow!

You know your way around PC components and troubleshooting.

There is not much else you can do. You said you isolated both motherboards from the chassis and used a known good power suppy and different power switch to energize the motherboard. That MB does not have a supplemental EPS power connection so you are only looking at the standard ATX power connection to fire up the MB.

Looks like both motherboards are in trouble. How do the socket pins look on each motherboard? Any bent pins not making contact with the landings on the processor?

There is always that one in a bzillion chance the replacement MB is also faulty???
