Harware: HP xw8600 2x Xeon 5470 3.33ghz 32 GB ram

   BIOS Configuration: Hewlett-Packard 786F5 v01.46 09/20/2012

           HARD DRIVES:

                    2 wd 750 GB HDD

2 wd black 1 tb HDD

                    2 Seagate 3 TB HDD

Each set is a mirrored pair.

When I installed the 3 tb disks the bios showed only 801 GB.  I tried a few setting chngs but cannot report

exactly what they were... didn't record them, but at any rate BIOS still showed and now shows 801 GB for those

Drives.

However when I boot the OS (a  developement branch of solaris 11 called openindiana/hipster with illumos software.)

The OS appears to recognize the full size of the disks and reports 2.73 TB (some is used for the OS)

I've put data on the mirrored pair of 3 TB discs... only about 350 GB so far.

However on reboot I see a message flash by that I haven't been able to record but one part I have caught

says the `Hardware does not support' those 3 TB disks.

Further,  at least dozens and probably 100s of lines of this format:

read DDD (D for digit)  at least 225 so

read 225 from 5060511486 to 0xce8c5a60, error: 0x1

The Hex and Decimal numbers change as a progression from smaller to larger, for each line.

but not the ending `0x1'.

I don't know what it means but it happens on every reboot... however once the OS comes up I see the discs

reported at the right size and the data seems to be sound.

Are there any settings I can tinker with that might help?

What follows if from an OS tool called prtdiag just a more definitive report on the

hardware (Not the disks) and after that a the output of `format' cmd that does show the disks

Output of prtdiag
