Compaq Presario 5710F
Microsoft Windows Vista

I subscribe to Comcast Blast; internet download speed 200 mbps.  Is the Presario 5710F Vista Home PC with AMD Athlon X2 4450e Dual Processor have limited internet speed capacity?

Speedtest results:  93 mbps download, 12 mbps upload.  Comcast tech said there is an issure with my PC, preventing faster internet processing.

Is that possible? PC is working perfectly.... no virus or slowdown.

Hi:

There is nothing wrong with your PC.

According to the specs for your PC, you are getting almost the maximum throughput that the 10/100 ethernet adapter your PC has can provide.

Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100Mb/s

My ISP only gives us about 5 MBPS upload speeds.

Upload speeds are always considerably less than download speeds.

If you want to get the full 200 MBPS download speed, you would have to get a gigabit ethernet adapter.

You can get an external USB one which would be the easiest thing to do.
