My computer has to be continually updated and restarted.  Usually 5-10 times a day.  If I don't do it, it is making a loud noise like something is running.  This has been going on for quite some time and I've done nothing different.   I've tried doing all the optional updates already and that did not solve the problem.

@debgale

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand there are Continous updates and restarts that stop a strange noise from taking over is the updates are stopped,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Did you check what exactly is the PC updating? is it via the windows updates or the HP Updates?

Have you attempted to update the BIOS?

While you respond to that, here's a few things you can do: Click here
