Does the IPM 17 TP motherboad support NVMe?

I want to upgrade to a NVMe M.2 SSD. While I have a free M.2 port on my motherboard for SSD, it does not specify if it supports NVMe or only Sata R/W speeds.

The information is hard to find online. Anyone has the correct info so I can buy the right SSD Drive?

I think you mean the Thimpu motherboard.  

Crucial made an M.2 SSD that is compatible with it.

It is not likely that the Thimpu mobo is compatible with the Samsung NVMe specification controller.

Yes  it is the Thimpu motehrboard.

I installed the SanDisk SD8SN8U-512G-1122 X400 512GB M.2 2280 6Gb/s SSD drive on my motherboard. Not a fun task since I had to remove the graphics card, its holding bracket and unplug lots of cables to access the available M.2 port.

But I can't find my new Sandisk M.2  SSD drive in the BIOS neither in the UEFI therefore unable to assign it a letter in Windows. I do not need to use it as a boot drive since I already have another SATA SSD with my OS on it.

Any advice?

You probably need to prep the drive, so don't give up on it just yet.

Use Diskpart to see if it is recognized by the OS and if it is, create a partition and format it afterward.

You could also have talked to a Samsung SSD Expert that is available at the Samsung web page.
