No one experence this??
It has something to do with the windows biometric framework. seems that HP installs there own version with Simplepass and Windows hello alone doesnt work.
Do any of you have an HP desktop with a contact biomenric reader?
This has my head spinning. I am running a HP Envy desktop 700-414 with windows 10 pro.
I have tried 3 different USB fingerprint readers of 2 versions 1) Bio-key and 2) Verifi 5100.
Both are recognized in device manager and allowed me to check for updated drivers.
But when attempting to set up in Windows hello, all readers do not detect any fingerprints. I just keep touching the sensor(s) and it never advances.
I’ve Ran services.msc and started the Windows Biometric Service and set
it as Automatic
I’ve also set the Biometric policy in “gpedit.msc” and Allowed the use of biometrics and Allowed users to log on using biometrics.
Ive attempted to install manufacturers (Zvetco..Verifi 5100) driver using an executable and a prompt states “to use this product windows biometric framework must be installed)
The biometric co-processor is present in the “devices and printers section.
I’ve tried all available USB 2 and 3 ports.
I’ve run a SFC scan.
Cant try it in safe mode as the services don’t run in safe mode.
Totally lost. Am I missing something? Has anyone experienced this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
