Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am the original owner of this PC and it came with Windows Vista installed.  After upgrading to Windows 10, some of the keys on the keyboard no longer work, nor can I program them.  The keyboard driver for Vista allowed me to do that; however, that keyboard driver will not install for Windows 10.  My keyboard is model KB-0602, HP part number 5167-7583.  HP has never provided new keyboard drivers for Windows 7 or Windows 10.

When I run Windows Update, it says my computer is current and up to date.

When I use device manager and check what the current keyboard driver is it says Microsoft version 06/21/2006.  Doing a search for a new driver results in the current driver being the best.

The buttons that no longer work are:

hp Club, Internet, Info, eject1, and eject2.

All the other extra buttons work fine.  What driver can I use to get that functionality back as well as being able to program buttons?

Hello, @Stephen18 – Greetings!

Thanks for reaching out on HP Support Forums. I’d be glad to help 🙂

I understand you are having issues with few of the keys on your HP Multimedia Keyboard. There are no drivers listed in HP driver page because this is primarily a plug and play device. The drivers that are required for this device is already inbuilt with the operating system.

I suspect a hardware issue with the keyboard buttons which might have caused this issue.

If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help.

Good luck & Merry Xmas 🙂

I do not believe it is a hardware problem.  Windows Vista used the HP Emhanced Multimedia Keyboard Driver Update sp37318.exe 5.8 MB February 13, 2008 for this keyboard functionality and it works fine in Windows Vista (64 bit).   However, that will not install in either Windows 7 or Windows 10 nor do those operating systems have drivers for that capability on this keyboard.  The operating systems identifiy this keyboard as a standard PS/2 keyboard using the plug and play even though it is not a standardd pS/2 keyboard.
