HP Envy 750-415 VHR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I purchased this HP envy 750-415 VHR as part of a bundle specifically for the Vive VR system.  With only onevactive HDMI port (currently being used for the monitor) and no VGA port, how am I supposed to cnnect the Vive link's HDMi cable, do I need a splitter?

Thank you for the additional information,  @smgdawg.

Sorry, I didn't check the specs closely enough the first time.  When there is a video card installed, HP covers the integrated HDMI ports.  This means they can't be used.  If there is only one HDMI port in the video card your only other option would be to use a HDMI splitter as you suggested in your original post.  StarTech makes a 1 x 2 HDMI splitter here.  It should do what you need.  As you will see, it requires a USB port or AC adapter to power it.

@smgdawg, welcome to the forum.

According to the Motherboard Specs there are two HDMI ports (#3) in the Back I/O ports:

If one of them is not active you should contact the seller for help.  There is nothing to make me believe that you shouldn't be able to use both of them.

Technically, there are 3 HDMi ports but two came with plastic covers over them and, by process of elimination with the monitor, I've determined those two do not work.  I read that these ports may not be useable because they are connected to the graphics cards within the motherboard (sorry, I don't know if that even makes sense).

Does that seem plausable, could they perhaps be used for components but not for others?

Thanks, that makes sense I guess. You would think if the computer is sold as part of a bundle, it would come with the ports required to support the bundled product!!  Errrgh!

Just one more quick question, a splitter is not the smae thing as switch, is it?

I know what you are saying.  Yes, a splitter is different than a switch.  I didn't do any research on switches, however.  This may be another option for you to check out.
