HP ENVY 750
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I looking to see if there is a bios speaker in the computer. I installed new ram and when I boot up the computer it displays nothing. I wanted to see what the problem was but I cant diagnose what it is since there is no speaker/ no speaker enabled. I see a little beeper in the motherboard titled buzzer1 but how do I enable it?

I also know that's not what you call the little buzzers but I'm too lazy to look it up...

@Mattdog0601,

Here is an explanation:

"The PC speaker is used during power-on self-test (POST) sequence to indicate errors during the boot process. Since it is active before the graphics card, it can be used to communicate "beep codes" related to problems that prevent the much more complex initialization of the graphics card to take place. For example, the Video BIOS usually cannot activate a graphics card unless working RAM is present in the system, while beeping the speaker is doable with just ROM and the CPU registers." source document.

Take out the new RAM, and install the old modules.   Does it now work?   If OK,  you have done no permanent harm. What is the exact model of this HP Envy 750?  Where the modules specified to your unit, or off the shelf?  The Odense motherboard used in the 750 series is specific, 8GB per slot MAX, 2 slots, for a 16GB total.

@Mattdog0601,

 Did you unplug power cord from back of unit before you opened the cabinet?

If you did not, it's possible to damage the motherboard, because there is still power on the board.

That negates anything else you do.

Seems illogical that reverting back to the stock configuration would create a non-functional unit.

Plugging the power cord back into the chassis, is there a green light?  When you press the power button?  Also look on the motherboard, so you see a green LED that is lit during the plug-in?
