Looking for some help in choosing a video card to support two monitors, to fit a Pavilion P7-1108p (currently has only onboard video with support for one monitor). I really have no idea how to match up a card for this machine -- understand there are some considerations re: the power supply in the computer and what kind of card it will support in terms of power consumption.
Also am not sure if I should get a PCI Express card, or some older type. When I check Windows Device Manager, it seems to indicate "pci standard host cpu bridge" -- which I'm guessing is not the same as PCI Express, since I'm comparing with another computer where Device Manager does indicate PCI Express.
I don't need a super powerful card for gaming; just enough to support a dual monitor setup for general office use.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

Welcome to the forums.
First of all, let's set some basics. Your system is 2011, it's Boot environment is called BIOS. The motherboard does have a PCIEx16 generation 2 slot. You can not use the newest (UEFI v BIOS) graphic cards. (No, you can not fix this).
Please specify type of monitor cabling... VGA, DVI, HDMI

You can adapt the DVI to VGA.
The 5450 only uses 19W.
