I've got an HP Pavilion Elite m9426f desktop pc, 64-bit Vista, 8GB RAM, Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz with ATI Radeon 3650 graphics card. Everything should be stock, if I upgraded anything from the basic model, it might have been RAM.
I'm looking to upgrade to meet requirements for some games I'd like to get into.
What I'm spotting in requirements are in the range of:
(DirectX 11) AMD Radeon HD 5770 1024MB | NVIDIA GTS 450 1024MB | Intel HD4000 @720P
(DirectX 11) AMD Radeon R9 270X 2048MB | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2048MB @1080P
768 MB 100% DIRECTX 10 AND SHADERS 4.0 COMPATIBLE ATI RADEON HD 5670/NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 260 OR HIGHER
What I've found from browsing around has been indications of needing different power, fan, etc, etc. But it's not been specific to my system and I'm looking for some direct advice. Buying a new computer isn't really an option at the moment. Can someone give me some guidance on exactly what would be needed to support some of the current games, and to increase my browsing speed (which lags a bit if I've got too many things running)?
I have done some minor upgrading of hardware in the past on different computers, but am pretty clueless on it all. So specific items that would fit with the slots I have would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

@Tarendal, welcome to the forum.
All newer video cards after the GTX 660/670 series require UEFI in the motherboard instead of a Legacy/standard BIOS. Also, you will most likely have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU). The current PSU is only 300W. Your best option is to choose a manufacturer and contact their Tech Support for help. They are the experts on their products and will save you money. They normally pay for the shipping to you, but you pay for the shipping for a card that doesn't work. It is very difficult to know which newer cards will work in older computers.
