Thanks for replying. 🙂 The processors listed were tried and tested by HP. If Phenom ii x6 100t isn't present in the list then it means that either it doesn't suit the configuration or there could be other complications. Hope this helps.

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I read your post and understand that you have an HP Pavilion p6310f Desktop PC with an M2N78-LA motherboard. You would like to know if you could install a Phenom x6 processor. Let me help you with this information.

I found that the M2N78-LA motherboard supports only AM3 processors. Following are the processors that the motherboard can support:

  • AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)

  • AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (Heka)

  • AMD Phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto)

  • AMD Athlon II X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)

  • AMD Athlon II X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)

  • AMD Athlon II X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions. Cheers!
