HP Pavilion P7-1037c
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My computer was moved to my new apartment, and my movers set it up for me.  I used to see some front USB ports near the bottom of the front panel but now I don't see them.  Is there something I need to do?  I really need those!

The front panel slides downward. Look at this picture.

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

This link is to the Maintenance and Service Guide for your PC and it does not show any USB ports on the front bottom of the case: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03359399

If yours is different, then look at the illustrations in the guide for removing the front cover.

Then look down near the bottom of the case on the inside of the front cover -- it's possible the drives got pushed back into the case or completely out of their socket in the cover.

If you're not comfortable reinserting them back into the cover, then you will need to have this done by a computer repair technician.

Good Luck

The reply may have been helpful, but I am not a hardware person.  I don't know if I could successfully remove the front panel on my own.  It looks as if I will need a tech person to help me.  But thank you!
