HP Pavilion 500-023w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

OVERVIEW:
For awhile my PC was working perfectly fine and no issues. For about 6 months I haven't been able to play onto my computer because when trying to start computer it would start, but wouldn't show anything onto the screen. Then began to show on the screen, but if turned off, wouldn't show up on screen next time turning it on. I would have to press the Power botton for a long time for it to turn on, all fans would work and still had issues displaying onto the screen. Changed and tried the HDMI, and power cords onto other computers and they worked. Went to the BestBuy GeekSquad and they could not find out what was wrong because it wouldn't display onto the screen. Now I plan on purchasing a new Power-Supply to see if that fixes the problem.

Hello DaylonK

This symptom could be power supply, RAM,  or motherboard failure that could include the Intel graphics in the processor (CPU). CPU failure is very low on list except if thermal failure. Usually motherboard dies first.

Power supply is good place to start troubleshooting.

Problem is you may have to check all above components to find problem. This means having good replacement RAM and replacement CPU. Sometimes it is good to try graphics card if you are using Intel graphics integrated in Intel CPU.

Troubleshooting boot failure can be very expensive.

Suggest you take PC to local tech for fix as this person has  components and skill to find the bad component.

Best Buy Geek Squad would not be my go to choice when diagnosing this type of problem. BBGS does not have the skills to solve this type of problem

Hello DaylonK

Are you sure the power supply is the problem?

What troubleshooting have you done to isolate the power supply? No video at boot could be caused by a number of failing components.

Open case and measure the power supply length you have now. Then shop for a power supply with same dimensions and similar or greater wattage output.

I have tried removing and using new and different CPU. When this occured nothing smelt burnt or damaged. The mother board seemed perfectly fine and had no burning smells as well. I personally believe that it is the power supply, and If it isn't I can always return it and buy another part to try another part.

I meant (RAM) and CPU works perfectly.
