My wired desktop internet connection cuts out for a few seconds every 3 to 5 minutes. Laptops are able to access the internet wirelessly via the router. My conclusion is that the ethernet adaptor (card?) needs to be replaced. I've done some searching but can't work out what I need to buy (what it's called), what specs (speed?), and where to put it (a card slot? replace something there?). I'd prefer to keep a wired connection as it's much faster.
The product specs say it's currently:
Technology: PCI Realtek RTL8105E
Data transfer speeds: up to 10/100 Mb/s
Transmission standards:10-Base-T Ethernet
The system info shows this:
The SpeedTest shows:
AT&T says downstream speed is up to 18 mbps
Thanks for any help.
