Hi, I'm about to add a SSD drive to my new Pavilion 510-199. When I removed the side it looks like there are no free sata connectors
this is a link to the motherboard:
my question is, can I just disconnect the DVD drive and use that connector? as I doubt i'll ever use it anyway or will I need to buy an interface card with extra SATA connetions. I don't really want to do that though as there is only one free PCIe slot and I may want to upgrade the graphics card in the future.
thanks for any assistance

The SATA port the DVD drive is using should be acceptable for the SSD. Since this motherboard is so limited, be sure the SSD uses the same power connection as the DVD drive or that the power supply has the correct connector.

Just a quick update, installed the SSD using the DVD drive SATA and a spare power connector (the DVD power is a different pin connector), cloned the HDD drive with no problems. I now have a system booting from an SSD. It means I can't use the DVD but not really an issue as I can't remember the last time I used one. I just made sure I created my recovery media using a USB stick instead of disk.
Thanks for the input
