Hi,
My Desktop has 4 GB ram and 2 GB Graphics Card. But the RAM is not sufficient for me. I want to upgrade the RAM. I have checked and the Motherboard has 2 RAM slots. There is one 4GB 1600MHz RAM stick in it. I want to add a 8 GB 1600MHZ RAM stick, so that there will be 12GB in total. The System is in WARRANTY. So should i buy a RAM stick and insert it by myself or go for the Service Centre for upgrade ? If i want to upgrade the RAM by myself, i have to break the Warranty seal on the side. Does cutting the seal void my System Warranty ? Please reply...
Thanks in Advance,
DEV

Hi,
What is the model/product of your computer. Normally you can upgrade RAM on desltop machines and keep warranty. But I need to tell you: warranry is a very grey area; vendors (all of them, including HP) may reject warranty claim if your upgrade may cause problem for your machine.
Regards.

Thanks for the Reply Sir...
Do you suggest me to go to the Authorised service centre and ask for the upgrade to be done by the Technician/Service Engineer ? So that, in any case they cant reject warranty claim under any circumstances ..
