HP - ENVY Desktop - Intel Core
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm in the process of purchasing a new pc desktop tower, and I was looking at the HP - ENVY Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - 2TB Hard Drive model 750-124. I see were it has a System Memory (RAM) of 16GB.

My question is can this tower be expanded to 32GB (2x16GB) RAM?

Hi @JA95606,

Allow me to welcome you to the HP community. A very good day to you. 🙂 I understand that you require assistance regarding the maximum RAM that can be upgraded to the Desktop computer. It will be a delight to assist you here.

A fabulous description of the issue was done before posting. Great research too.  Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You are a valued HP customer and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did you check the product specifications of the computer?
  • It depends on the operating system used.

Please take a look at the product specifications of the computer from this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-750-100-desktop-pc-series/8499646/model/8819429/documen...  and it will give you the memory upgrade information.

The specs are very clear:

16 GB

Amount: 16 GB

Speed: PC3-12800 MB/s

Type: DDR3-1600

Memory upgrade information

Dual channel memory architecture

Two 240-pin DDR3L DIMM sockets

Supports the following:

PC3L-12800 (DDR3L-1600)

PC3L-10600 (DDR3L-1333)

Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB DIMMs

Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems

   NOTE:

32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.

  • Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers

   NOTE:

Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

It does not offer 32 GB RAM upgrade.

Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply. 🙂

Hope this helps.  Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanksplease click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.
