Hi, I'm wondering if i would have to update my BIOS if I was to upgrade to an i7 4790 as I've heard from other's with z87 boards that they needed to update before their computer would turn on with haswell refresh processors and if so how would I go about doing that.

@gengar, welcome to the forum.
Normally, and I say normally, if the processor is supported by the motherboard and the 17-4790 is, you should not have to update the BIOS. However, if you do, here is the HP Software and Drivers Downloads for the motherboard. There are two updates for the BIOS.
