I just bought a HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a030 in the USA.
Power Supply
External 120 W
Total wattage: 120 W
Output voltage: 19.5 V
I was told by sales rep that the computer actually has 'auto ranging power supply' and should work outside the USA.
I want to take computer with me to Spain, where the power supply is 220V.
Will the computer work or get fried when I plug in without a transformer?

Hi @oolitka,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP community. A very good day to you. I reviewed the post about seeking information about the adapter being compatible with 220 Voltage as you plan to visit Spain.I will be glad to assist you with this.
Superb description and excellent diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.
For better clarity and to assist you better, I would require more information regarding this.
- Did you check the specs of the adapter using a magnifying glass?
Most of our AC adapters are universal adapters which mean that they work in most countries be it 110V or 220 V. But some adapters and power cords are not designed that way.
The prongs that connect to the wall outlet could also be different. If you consult a local technician he would throw a lot of insight on this as he would physically inspect this specific adapter while I am not able to do it.
If it is not compatible, then you will need a 220V to 110 V converter with the correct prongs to plug into the wall outlet.
However, I would request you to read what’s written on the adapter and the power cord, using a magnifying glass. That will throw some insight.
Also, take the adapter to a local Staples and Best Buy technician and find out if it is compatible with 220V without getting fried.
Please make sure that you check with a technician in Spain also before using it as it will ensure that everything is taken care off before using it. This is an honest suggestion by keeping your best interest in mind.
Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.
If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.
