internet explorer 9 opening up to many pages

I am having an issue with my Internet Explorer 9 on my Windows 7 home premium desktop. Whenever I start using it, it will suddenly start opening up numerous copies of whatever page I may be trying to open. I am talking, like 50 or so. I keep trying to close them, but it wont let me do anything, and I end up having to shut down. Has anyone else had this problem with IE9?  I have checked for virus's and malware, but found nothing. Have tried to uninstall IE and re-install it. Nothing seems to work. Please help

Re: internet explorer 9 opening up to many pages

Hi,

Try this and check..

{If possible or if you have another computer download Mozilla to a USB flash drive and keep it}

1. First load to Safe Mode with Networking

Once in Safe Mode with Networking do a clean startup. Do not open IE.

How to do a clean startup

2. Then Restart to Safe Mode with Networking again. Do not open IE.

3. Click on Start and in the Start Search box type in Internet Options and open it when it comes up at the top.

Click Advanced Tab in internet options and then Click Reset at the Bottom. Tick the check boxes and click reset and ok.

4. Open IE and check. If it works fine then download mozilla or Google Chrome as a backup browser.

5. Restart in normal mode. Check what happens.

If problem continues let me know..there are few more steps...

Re: internet explorer 9 opening up to many pages

Hi thanks for the help. I did everything you suggested, at first seemed to work. However after a few minutes on it again, it started with the multiple pages. If you have any other suggestions would be great.  I do have both Mozilla and Google on my pc, but I prefer to use IE.  Thank you

Re: internet explorer 9 opening up to many pages

OK, I removed the IE9 explorer as shown. But I have left it at IE8. That seems to work alright. Not sure I want to re-install version 9 now at this point. I didn't care for it even before this happened. For some reason kept deleting my Yahoo toolbar everytime I shut down. If I go to re-install, will let you know what happens. Thank you
