Product: Gateway Core I3 DX4860
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Can a Backup folder, be reloaded on another PC or OS? This was backed up while attempting Recovery. The PC was a Windows7 OS, but was updated to Windows 10. There was a problem with Windows 10 Freezing and not Booting with this PC. It appears that because it is not a normal BIOS, but uses UEFI instead.

 

The Recovery discs that were made for the Win7, were attempted and that did not complete the Updating. It hung up at 99%. I had Memorex DVD's and heard that Maxell should be used. I did not know this when making the Recovery Discs.

 

I mostly want to get my files that I had on this PC. Any clear answers, or leads of hope?

I am not sure of the procedure you used to backup the data. If you have used Microsoft backup, you can restore it on any system. Here is the link that helps:

If you used any other method to backup the files, please let me know.

 

To my understanding, the gateway unit is compaible of support Windows 10. However, if you want the Windows 7 recovery kit, you can try purchasing it from the following weblink:
