I am running windows 10 pro and none of the windows display power options seem to work with gtx 970. There is no brightness slider and the power plan does not take effect, for example the display is set to never sleep but sleeps after 5 mins and in the advanced settings it still says "Intel(R) Graphics Settings". I have updated the driver through nvidia gefore experience and also through the HP Support Assistant. Even though the intel graphics are disabled at hardware level and through device manager.

Hello
What is active Display Adapter in Device Manager?
It sounds like you are using integrated Intel graphics but have GTX 970 installed.
Check HDMI or DVI connection on back of PC. You may have monitor plugged in wrong video output.
You must uninstall Intel graphics so to run Nvidia graphics correctly.
