Since the NumLock key is Enabled by default in Win7, I'm presuming you're asking how to turn it off, right?

If that's the case, then read this:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-how-to-turn-off-numloc...

Good Luck

No...my problem is that the number lock buttom has to be manually activated before the number pad works....It does not start up automatically.  Not coming on at styartup is my problem.

I fixed my problem with the NumberLock button not coming on at startup.   I used this link:

If that's the case, then read this:  http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-how-to-turn-off-numloc...

On my computer my registry setting for this (see above link) was 2147483648....I changed this setting in the registry from the number 2147483648 to the number 2.   That fixed the problem.   I hope this helps someone.
