We recently had a surge in the neighborhood and the desktop was on. It shut it down and when we tried to turn it back on error message saying the windows didn't start right and goes to blue screen. Says to reinstall 10 and I have tried with the 10 disc but still nothing. Please help...

Thank you

Power surges can "fry" practically anything in the PC, including the motherboard, memory, and hard drive.

Best thing to do at this point is the following:

1) Press the Esc key repeatedly while rebooting

2) You should essentially see an HP Startup Menu

3) When that appears, select the option to run diagnostics.

Report back here what that finds.
