I know how to enter safe mode when in Windows 10.  What about after pressing the power button?

I read somewhere f8, but that did not work.

But what if I have a virus that has frozen the computer?  Am I reading this correctly that the only way to get into Safe Mode is to do it from Windows?

Look at my post.  When on the M$ page, then pick the second option instructions.

I was just going to respond to this.  Can I receive clarification on the following?

  1. Restart your PC. When you get to the sign-in screen, hold the Shift key down while you select Power
    Power icon > Restart.

What exactly is "Power ".  Is that the power button on my computer?  What if my comptuer automatically logs in?  Do I need to disable automatic login?

When on the sign-in screen, down in the lower right you will see the

Power iconemblem, click on that then restart, while holding the shift key.
As far as no sign-in (automated), I actually do not know how to do that on Windows 10.
